SNOW :: FINALLY SOME MAGIC

Sunday night, Feb.14, 2009. The wonder of snow fell in the Oxford, MS
area. We were actually driving home from Tupelo and began running into
it about 8 miles east of Oxford. Just wonderful!
These images were shot on Monday morning at various locations along
Hwy. going back to Tupelo.

BURNING OUT

An unexpected photo op - a jar candle, vanilla (my favorite scent) was burning low and will soon be done with itself. The texture on the side of the jar was amazing. A small blue dish was sitting to the side of it and its reflection was picked up on the glass.

TEXT :: Numbers :: Especially the No. 11

I have a thing with unexpectedly seeing the number 11 on different things: a purchase total, change back (11 cents for ex.), a car tag, but mostly it's time. As I typed this, I looked up to see what time it was -- 5:11 a.m. But even with time, 11 shows itself in weird ways. Once at The Salvation Army store I happened by an old dishwasher- it's time frozen at 9:11. When I saw the sign, 1111, I stopped immediately in the road (the drive into an old mall) and had to shoot it! Of course.

REFLECTED BRANCHES

Car window... reflected views. A happy accident, a cloudy day, trees overhead, and reflections that were just right.

CRIMSON DREAM

My favorite mannequin in Nielson's window captivates me totally. I'm
always waiting to see what she's dressed in and always ready to
photograph her. With this particular event, the red backdrop really took over and was something that I just could not
escape. The powerfulness of that particular red on that particular day with the lighting the way it was became pure magic.
