OAKS

Take all of me and watch me die the slow death of trees uncared for,
The long branches, graceful and free,
cut down to ridiculous sparseness. . .

twigs only, like me, that struggle to breathe
through seasons of struggle and harshness.

(These Oaks, once strong and beautiful, with much to offer to passers-by, neighbors, and the neighborhood as a whole, were suddenly taken down by thoughtlessness for the greater good of the micro-environment. Years of growth gone in a day and in a few months time half of the 7 or 8 trees had died as a result)
